A strategic collaboration between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Billion Prima Sdn Bhd is strengthening Malaysia’s position in advanced scanning technologies.
UTM contributes cutting-edge imaging algorithms and research expertise, while Billion Prima serves as the region’s sole R&D and manufacturing centre for cargo and baggage scanners, providing hardware and commercialisation capabilities.
This collaboration has successfully deployed the Wireless Radiation Portal Monitor (MyRPM), paving the way for the Miniature Baggage Scanner (MBS) to be established as a national standard.
The initiative bridges research and industry, supporting Malaysia’s ambition to set a “Gold Standard” in global durian export quality.
